Whoever is on holiday in Corfu - Liapades or Paleokrastritsa- finds out that many dogs and cats look mostly very much starved. You read, loving of animal is far spread.

From my experience in Liapades I want to point out that the animal understanding is another than in North Europe. The dogs and cats freely run around, they have their district and all an owner.

   

 

There are more than 20 veterinarians and animal doctors in Corfu town.

The owners pay attention to the food of the animals so they don’t get too fat. To walk around free without a line is important, also for as "dangerously" classified dogs.

There are 2 dog breeders for hunting hounds in Liapades.

 

   

Sometimes it happens that tourists take a dog or a cat  without knowing that the owners of the animals already looks feverishly for them.

This animal- loving appears also when you want to rent a house. There are some houses, where you can bring your dog or your cat.
