Diving

The diving areas around Liapades belong to the nicest in Greece.

"Have a look in Corfu at the water and you know what you can expect under water" - a local person explained to me. The rocks look like Neptun  has forgotten his cubes, small mountains, plateaus with big "grazing" fish dreams, high hills with “big blue feeling”, grottos, caves, grass covered levels and over and over  big surfaces which rescues quite a lot of surprise.

All diving areas around Liapades- Paleokastritsa are for the Mediterranean lover of distinct beauty and the attentive observer wants to discover the living beings, which the "diving guide of Corfu" describes. Unfortunately, night dives in the bodies of water around Corfu are forbidden by the coastguard, or they have to go from the shore of the respective basis.

Whoever wants to dive in the 10 -15 m areas, that is exactly Adipsos Reef and the Blue Grotto. Both areas are situated side by side and can be attended in a wonderful dive together which leads by grottos even into a small limestone cave.

To saves the very covered surroundings before the caves and grottos and to whirl up thus little sediment as possible in the caves, the tarring should be right anyway. Another marvellous area offers the cloister flow with a about 10 m long tunnel which second exit leads to a small indentation of the cliff flow. The tunnel offers countless crabs and shrimps, is quite cleft with many smaller caves and grottos for diving, which offer protection and

In Liapades there is the small diving base of Mourikis (PADI international), which lends diving equipment. It is the ideal starting point for more than 20 diving areas.

If requested you ca be driven from here to other starting places. Next to the beach there are several houses, which can be rented. A diving course can be done, as well as the equipment be lent.

As alternative to discover the underwater world is to snorkel.
